Hellen’s relationship with the sea runs deep, but she wasn’t born to it.

In fact, her family roots lie in the high mountains, and she grew up among climbing ropes, expeditions and renowned mountaineers, like her father, Agustín Faus, Spain’s first and greatest populariser of mountaineering.

And something stays with you.

She always says her mission is to do what she saw her father do… but in the oceans.

Although it had always drawn her, it was well past thirty when she discovered that the sea was her life. Since then she has never stopped carrying salt in her veins, sailing, diving and living by and for the Blue.

Her background as a veterinarian and her interest in animal behaviour shape the way she looks at the ocean: with curiosity, rigour and deep respect for every animal and species.

Her restless drive to create and transform is focused on the need to put marine life in the spotlight, with one purpose: that it becomes ever better known, better understood and better comprehended, convinced that only from there can it be conserved, protected and, of course, enjoyed.

She founded Care4Oceans to share that perspective and create a meeting point where anyone can take a step forward in this need of our planet: caring for all the water we depend on.

An open, universal space without borders, just like the sea itself.
